CPISTF scholarships granted to 46 students
TORONTO—The Canada Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF) has doled out a total of $61,250 in scholarships to select students for the current school year.
"We are pleased to be able to support 46 students in their pursuit of a career in the graphic communications industry," said CPISTF chairman Don Gain in a released statement.
Thirty-four continuing students already enrolled in the scholarship program were awarded a total of $42,500. Twelve new first-year students, enrolled in an approved course of study, received a total of $18,750. Each annual scholarship equals $1,250.
David Vega of Brampton, Ont. received the special Warren Wilkins Prestige Scholarship for "students exhibiting a high level of talent," valued at $5,000. Vega started his studies in September at Ryerson University's School of Graphic Communications Management.
CPISTF was launched in 1971 through the combined efforts of several printing industry execs. Over a million dollars has been donated to the fund over the years from firms and individuals associated with Canada's printing industries.
