NS Studios goes defunct
TORONTO—NS Studios declared bankruptcy Aug. 30 and entered receivership. Duff & Phelps Canada Restructuring is the appointed trustee.
Creditors had their first meeting Sept. 23. According to information from the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada, declared liabilities total $1,413,334 while assets are valued at $510,000.
A Duff & Phelps document lists more than 40 unsecured creditors with combined claims totalling $131,467.90. A sole secured creditor is also listed, with a claim of $510,000.
NS Studios began business in 1972 and specialized in POP print, display and fixture manufacturing. Its offerings included in-house screen printing, digital printing and lamination, as well as litho prepared by NS and outsourced to alliance partners. Phone calls and emails to the company were not returned.
