Saltwire Equipment Auction- Nova Scotia & Newfoundland Plants
ST. JOHN'S NEWFOUNDLAND—
All the printing equipment from bankrupt Saltwire Network is going up for auction on Nov. 12 and 13th. Both the printing plant in Bedford Nova Scotia and St. John's Newfoundland have been closed, with all assets being sold off. Equipment includes Goss Web , Wifag 2005 Newspaper offset press, Heidelberg Speedmaster CD102 six colour, Speedmaster SM 52 five colour, 2 GTO's , Muller Bravo 380 Saddlesticher, Muller Amigo Perfect Binder , Die Cutters , Stahl & MBO folders , Polar Cutters, Drills, Laminators , and even several Embroidery Machines.
The closure of St. John's facility leaves Newfoundland and Labrador as the only province without the ability to print newspapers. Saltwie absorbed the former Robinson-Blackmore chain of community papers, and printing operation. Saltwire the largest newspaper publisher went into receivership earlier this year. The newspapers were sold to Postmedia but the printing plants were not part of the deal.
