Fiery Sold To Epson
FREMONT, CALIFORNIA—
Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson") said it entered into an agreement with Siris Capital Group (owner of EFI & Fiery) to acquire all interests in US company Fiery, which provides digital front-end servers and workflow products for the print industry. The transaction is valued at approximately $591m. Fiery will become part of the Epson group, but retain its current name and structure, and continue to operate from its existing offices.
Epson said Fiery’s software, server, and workflow products would complement its strategic vision and hardware expertise “to accelerate the growth of digital printing around the world”. Toby Weiss, CEO of Fiery, will continue to lead Fiery under Epson’s larger corporate management structure, alongside the rest of Fiery’s management team. Fiery was acquired as part of Siris' take-private acquisition of EFI(Electronics for Imaging)in 2019. Siris(private equity)operationalized Fiery as an independent company in order to position it for a strategic exit. The divestiture of Fiery is the second carveout that Siris has completed from the broader EFI portfolio, after previously selling eProductivity Software to Symphony Technology Group, announced in 2022.
