Riso Buys Toshiba's Inkjet Head Division
MISHIMA, JAPAN—
Riso has agreed to acquire Toshiba's Inkjet Head Divison in a deal that is set to close in July.The two Japanese manufacturers are existing partners and Riso already uses Toshiba Tec printheads. Toshiba Tec's inkjet head technologies are used for printing applications including wide-format, labels, packaging and corrugated printing.
Riso said the deal would help it to achieve its ‘Vision 25’ goals, includeing expanding its inkjet business. Riso says that the newly added precision parts business would enable Riso to expand the ranges of our original technology and business.Around 200 employees will join Riso as a result of the deal, which also involves additional R&D and production sites in Mishima City,Japan.
