Epson Introduces Entry Level Garment Printer
—
Epson released a entry-level direct-to-garment (DTG) printer that can print directly onto dark, as well as light, fabrics. Epson said the SC-F1000 will be of particular interest printers starting in the promotional products business “that require a cost-effective solution with the flexibility to print on a wide range of fabric types, either light or dark”. Epson’s unique PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead technology, coupled with NVT (Nozzle Verification Technology),
which ensures “exceptional” image quality and stability, the SC-F1000 is said to be the only printer in its category to include white ink, enabling it to print directly onto dark garments and direct-to-film. Image quality is further enhanced with the use of Epson’s UltraChrome DG2 inks, which reduce bleed from yellow and black. The machine is compact so can be installed in smaller workspaces, while the absence of a fan means it can be easily placed against a wall.Features include a large opening lid, which is said to simplify the process of setting the garment or film onto the platen, and platen sensors which detect uneven settings to avoid printing errors.
