Heidelberg has pulled out of all international expos next year including Drupa. Heidelberg had originally a large  presence in the brand new Hall 1 at the Messe Dusseldorf. On 8 July Heidelberg made the bombshell announcement that it would no longer be exhibiting. Participation in next year’s Drupa trade fair had been “cancelled due to unforeseeable effects of Covid-19”.

Two other large exhibitors: Xerox and Bobst, have already cancelled their participation. Some are comparing  the situation to the problems that afflicted the UK-based Ipex show after large exhibitors began pulling out. The Heidelberg pull out could cause other exhibitors to change their plans. Heidelberg said that it planned to focus on , virtual trade fair concepts and regional events. Over the last last 10 years Heidelberg had pulled out of all North American and European trades shows except Drupa.
