HP To Cut Staff By 9,000
PALO ALTO, CALIF—
HP will shed up to 9,000 jobs, 16% of its workforce, over the next three years as the group implements a new simplified structure. Worldwide headcount will be reduced by between 7,000-9,000 employees. The restructuring will cost around $1bn . HP employed 55,000 people worldwide in 2018.
Savings would come from a simplified go-to-market model and the elimination of regional operating layers and overhead, as well as the consolidation of HP's manufacturing and R&D footprint and the rationalization of platforms and a simpler portfolio. No disclosure if Canada or the US will loose staff has been made.
