Agfa Graphics announces that it will be closing its offset printing plate manufacturing facility in Branchburg, New Jersey by the end of this year as part of its plan to optimize its global production capacity  for printing plates." This action is being taken to meet the current and future competitive pressures of today's market for plates," said Gunther Mertens, Regional President - North America.

"Today, 45% of our offset printing plate volumes in North America are already sourced from other factories in the Agfa network," said Gunther Mertens . The Agfa-Gevaert  is one of the three major suppliers of offset plates in North America along with Kodak and Fujifilm. Agfa did not comment on whether the US tariff on aluminum had any thing to do with the desisson.
