Heidelberg signs up Landa customer
GERMANY—
Heidelberg has signed up a packaging printer for one of the first installations of the new Primefire 106 inkjet press. The customer Colordruck Baiersbronn was originally announced as a Landa beta site at the last Drupa. The most recent list of beta sites for Landa did not include Colordruck Baiersbronn. Director of Colordruck Baiersbronn Martin Bruttel said the Primefire would be used to develope a new model of mass customisation in packaging.
Heidelberg's Primefire 106 is a joint project with Fujifilm. It prints in seven colours at 1.200 x 1,200 dpi and runs at 2,500 sheets per hour. It is an 8 up press and is aimed at the package printing market.

There has been a great deal of interest and activity with the Primefire in Canada; and not just in the Packaging segment. Globally, the factory in Germany has manufacturing slots booked until mid 2018.
