Metro Label acquired by Tapp Label
SCARBOROUGH, ON—
 
Metro Label, a producer of custom label and printed label products, has been purchased by Tapp Label Acquisition Company (Tapp Label).

This is the fourth major acquisition by Tapp Label in less than a year. According to reports, Metro Label will continue to use the Metro Label name for its Toronto-based customers, but will use Tapp Label for West Coast customers.

Scarborough, Ontario-based Metro Label was founded in 1974 and specialized in decoration labels and shrink/sleeve and flexible packaging for the wine and sprits markets, as well as the pharmaceutical, health and beauty markets. The company has clients not just in Canada, but also in the United States, Central America and the Caribbean.

The company has received awards for its environmental leadership in the label industry.

In a statement on the announcement of the acquisition, Tapp Label CEO and owner David Bowyer said Metro Label’s associates will benefit, “from the strength of Tapp Label’s structure and focused investments, and our customers will benefit from the expanded capabilities and geography.”
