Election flyer misprints go to wrong ridings
TORONTO—Due to a printing error, Ontario voters in Thornhill and Niagara Falls had their election mailers swapped, receiving flyers pertaining to the other riding's Feb. 13 by-election.

Approximately 50,000 flyers were distributed to each electoral district, and Elections Ontario estimates between 4-6% of the flyers intended for Thornhill were sent to Niagara Falls, and vice versa.

"We will continue to work with the vendor going forward to address and make certain that a process is established for future electoral events and continue to maintain a high level of accuracy," said Elections Ontario's Christina Friend-Johnston. "Our focus right now is on rectifying the issue and ensuring that electors have the correct information."

Friend-Johnston said the printer has agreed to take financial responsibility for the error.

In the coming days, Elections Ontario is reissuing the correct personalized notice of registration cards to each area resident on the permanent register of electors. The cards list assigned voting locations, plus returning office and advance poll locations.
