Exhibitors report exceptional sales at Print World 2012
TORONTO—Exhibitors at the recent Print World trade show and conference in Toronto reported strong sales, with at least one reporting it was its "best show ever."
That comment was from PDS Pressdown, while Sydney Stone also placed several "sold" signs on its equipment. Therm-O-Type, Deposit Photos, Docuplex Printing, Technifold, International Binding & Laminating Systems, EFI Proofing Solutions and TAS Films were just some of the many others reporting success at the show.
Some vendors returned after a long absence from the show and enjoyed heavy traffic at their booths. Two examples are NOR-AM Graphic Equipment and Treck Hall, showing off new equipment and wide format supplies respectively.
Larger booths at the show were a heavy draw this year, and included Ricoh, Oce, KBA, KBR and Epson.
Meanwhile, The "Twitterverse" was on fire about Print World, with Spicers Canada tweeting "great Print World show this year" and Tracy Ta, a Graphics Communication Management student at Ryerson University, tweeting "such an awesome day at Print World." Ryerson had a strong presence at the show, sharing space in a booth with the Toronto Craftsmen and also sending volunteers to help ensure the show ran smoothly.
There were many interactive elements to the displays, while SpectraColor even brought a mechanical bull to its booth which was popular throughout the weekend.
The speaker sessions were also well-attended. Read an overview of talks from Robert Burns, Jay Mandarino, Frank Romano, Warren Werbitt, and Kristof Dekeukelaere. Stay tuned for more speaker overviews, including keynote Jacques Côté from Canada Post on postal transformation.
