Canadian Flexographic Training Committee donates $17,500 for printing scholarships
OTTAWA—The Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF) has received a financial contribution of $17,500 from the Canadian Flexographic Training Committee towards the funding of one perpetual scholarship and two “Adopt a Student” scholarships.
“This is an extremely generous investment in the future of our industry," said Don Gain, chair of the the CPISTF. “The fund is so very appreciative of the support of the members of the Canadian Flexographic Training Committee as it will permit the Board of Trustees to allocate additional scholarships in the years to come.”
Ron Schroder, Chairman of the Canadian Flexographic Training Committee, added, “With the establishment of these scholarships, offered specifically to students with flexography in mind as their chosen career path, the industry is assured of obtaining many highly qualified future employees and potential customers.”
Gain also announced the appointment of Schroder to the Board of Trustees of the Fund.
The primary objective of the fund is to attract the most talented young people available to the printing industry by providing financial assistance to them while they are enrolled in an approved graphic arts management or technical program, according to CPISTF.
A number of CPISTF scholarships were handed out recently to Ryerson University's Graphic Communications Management students.

CPISTF is certainly the best forum and management structure for these new scholarships.
