Greenpeace International has pulled out of the Forest Stewardship Council(FSC). Greenpeace was one of the original members of FSC when it was founded 25 years ago. Matt Dagget, global leader for Greenpeace forest campaign said " we no longer have confidence that FSC alone can consistently guarantee enough protection, especially when forests are facing multiple threats.

We encourage companies to firstly reduce their use go virgin fibre and use recycled and responsible alternative fibre".
FSC Canada is having their annual general meeting in Montreal May 29 this is sure to be a hot topic. What affect this will have on FSC paper with the public and corporations is not known. None of the FSC certified paper mills have made any comments.
